Through the GABEK society tutors, and students of widely differing subjects and individuals working in different jobs have come together to ask how one can escape technical structural pressures and evaluate the reliability and relevance of information. How can solutions to problems provided by individuals and sometimes experts be criticized by inclusion in a wider context? What are the necessary conditions for information technology to guarantee transparency and when does it lead to the levelling of relationships due to the exchange of large amounts of data? How can social organizations, conceptual knowledge systems and technical information systems be formed and adapted to one another to cover the basic needs of human beings? Starting from the core questions knowledge organization adapted to human needs is to be encouraged in various fields or research, teaching and application.
In order to efficiently use information as a decisive resource means of knowledge processing that focus on human needs increasingly have to be developed. The source of information is provided by the experiences and attitudes of individuals involved. These have to be systematized and to be formed into transparent conceptual knowledge systems. The Gabek society wants to contribute to this aim through qualitative processes. Thus satisfactory changes and favourable developments can be encouraged in the organizations to which the individuals involved belong.
