The GABEK (Complete Management of Complexity) method developed at the Institute of Philosophy is a computer-assisted method of text analysis and knowledge organization. Based on open interviews, texts from the Internet or other verbal data, individual opinions and attitudes are networked. Knowledge networks of a selected group or organization can be presented and used to control decision-making processes.
Lectures on the theory, method and applications of the research procedure GABEK alternate with exercises. Participants are provided with a coded GABEK document and the WinRelan software, which allows them to carry out the individual work steps.
The seminar leads to the competence to apply the method GABEK as a method of research in scientific projects and for problem solving in practice
GABEK® (Holistic Coping with Complexity) is a qualitative method of text analysis designed for the evaluation, processing and presentation of unordered verbal data e.g. of interviews or other texts in normal language. Supported by the software WinRelan® – it can be used to find out core visions, central aims and possible measures supported by most of the respondents. It leads to a deep understanding of complex situations.
